What is B2C marketing?

This type of marketing can be seen in companies that sell products such as food, clothing and electronics. These types of companies promote their products or services by making connections with consumers and encouraging them to buy.

Knowing your target market and creating campaigns that will achieve the expected acquisition is of utmost importance. Social networks and other media are necessary to facilitate close interaction with customers

Difference between B2B and B2C marketing

Business-to-business (B2B) marketing are strategies used to market products and services. In comparison, business-to-customer (B2C) marketing establishes strategies for direct sales of your products or services to the end consumer.

B2C marketing strategies

Taking into account the characteristics of the B2C buyer, implementing strategies such as the following are very helpful because they allow a more direct and specific interaction with end consumers. We present you three strategies that are helpful to fulfill the objectives that you set for your business.

Content Marketing

Companies create, publish and distribute content to attract, delight and engage consumers. Examples include videos, blogs, podcasts, webinars, case studies and white papers. The content marketing plan should reflect the four Ps of marketing (product, price, place and promotion).

  • Social media marketing

B2C brands use a combination of organic and paid social media to reach their target audience. Decide whether you want to increase web traffic, brand awareness, lead generation or other metrics. Showcase high-quality images or videos to capture consumers’ attention. Use social media to build a community around your brand. A strong group of followers can provide valuable feedback to improve your products or services.

  • Email campaigns

Inbound marketing also includes email marketing, which delivers content to the inboxes of people who signed up. Email is one of the best B2C strategies because it is a personal and direct medium.

You own your own contact list, which means you control the messaging and functionality. You don’t have to deal with changing algorithms of social media channels and search engines.

Study shopper data such as preferences, buying behavior and browsing history. Make it easy for consumers to control what content they get and when they get it.

  • Points of Sale

This strategy is in case your product is sold in physical points of sale. The exact location where your product is located is of utmost importance for the customer to make a more immediate decision.

  • Word of mouth

This strategy is mainly based on third parties, for example, if someone you trust tells you that they bought in a specific place and it went super well, this will cause a feeling of trust and the feeling will become an action that will encourage you to buy in the same place.

  • Paid advertising

For this type of strategy there are two types, first the purchase of advertising space on other websites (usually paid at cost per click), what we know today as Display.  Second we have SEM advertising which consists of bidding for keywords, which are searched by customers and these appear immediately showing the best results of advertisers who have paid better.

  • Convergence between offline and online

Nowadays it is considered more efficient to have a marketing strategy that combines offline and online, as this way you can benefit from both.

This type of strategy will allow you to reach more people, increase your brand awareness, and also maintain that fluid and close communication with the customer.

For this type of strategy you can consider implementing various methods of communication but we can recommend using storytelling, which in addition to publicizing your company allows you to reach customers through advertising, through a message that moves and motivates people who see it.

Now that you know all that B2C encompasses and the multiple strategies it has, then if you consider that your business fits the requirements and shares the same needs and objectives as B2C marketing then it’s time to get going and start strategizing right away.
